Nigeria’s first cricket oval set to open


Image result for cricket nigeriaThe first cricket oval in Nigeria will soon begin to host matches.

President of the Nigerian Cricket Federation Emeka Onyeama confirmed this on Monday during a site inspection of the facility.

The wicket turfs covering an expanse of more than twenty-two hectars of land have been leveled and grassed with officials saying the turfs are 95 percent complete.

Once completed, the facility will be used for inter-club cricket competitions, National team training, International and invitational tournaments.

Onyeama says plans are in the offing to partner the Nigerian sports ministry in developing the sport in the country.
