Falconets bounce back, beat Canada 3-1

Gabrielle Carle had fired the Canucks into the lead on 15 minutes but Chinaza Uchendu netted the equaliser from the spot before the break.

Second-half goals from Joy Bokiri and Chinwendu Ihezuo gave the Falconets their first win of the tournament.

The result gives Nigeria a lifeline in Group B after Spain defeated Japan 1-0 earlier.

The Falconets next face top-of-the-table Spain, while Canada play Japan on Sunday.

In other results, Hosts Papau New Guinea were taken to the cleaners again with a 6-0 loss to Sweden.

Korea DPR made a statement of intent with a stunning 4-2 win over Brazil.
