Nigerian Soldiers rescue 85 people held by insurgency

Image result for Nigerian Soldiers rescue 85 people held by insurgencyTroops of 7 Division of the Nigerian Army, Operation Lafiya Dole, have rescued 85 people, mostly women and children held hostage by insurgents in Borno State.

A statement by army spokesman, Colonel Sani Usman says they were rescued when the soldiers conducted a decisive clearance operation into the Boko Haram strategic town of Chukungudu.’

The operation was led by the General Officer Commanding the 7 Division, Brigadier General Victor Ezugwu, between Friday and Saturday.

Colonel Usman says the troops killed five terrorists and discovered a bomb-making factory and suicide vests.
