AFDB, SEFA to support Gambia’s Energy sector

Gambia’s new president  Adama Barrow has promised to improve the economy of the country.

The country’s energy sector is powered by fossil fuel which makes consumer tariff one of the highest in the sub region.

The Sustainable Energy Fund for Africa SEFA  and the Africa Development Bank  AFDB have  approved a US $995,000 grant for energy to Gambia.

In the country,only 40 percent  have access to electricity.
