As the Senate prepares to screen two ministerial nominees and twenty seven nominees for Resident Electoral Commissioner, Senate Majority Leader, Senator Ahmad Lawan has advised the Presidency to lobby more senators across the party divide for a successful outing.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with TVC News National Assembly programme, Hallowed Chambers, the Senate Leader also wants Nigerians not to have a disdain for lobbying which many have misinterpreted to mean asking for monetary compensation.

Senator Lawan says lobbying is an essential part of the activities of the legislature and as the chief marketer of government programmes in parliament, President Muhammadu Buhari’s government would achieve more if federal lawmakers are consulted regularly.

The Hallowed Chambers interview is scheduled to air on TVC News on Saturday at 7.30pm with a repeat broadcast on Monday at 3.30PM.

  1. Why should Presidency lobbied the Senate for them to perform their constitutional duties! The Senate should sit-up and respect the majority of Nigerians they are representing at the National Assembly and leave all trivia issues… God Bless Nigeria.
