The Africa Accreditation Cooperation meeting has opened in Abuja, the Nigerian capital.
The cooperation includes accreditation bodies on the African continent that facilitate trade and environmental protection to improve the continent’s competitiveness.
Participating countries regret that many countries on the continent are presently faced with an economic downturn due to low industrial development.
They call on African leaders to put in place policies that will allow for a strong and competitive industrial base for the Africa.
The cooperation members say there is a need for quality infrastructure to enable standardization and quality assurance.
They feel this will allow more African goods access to the global trade market.
