The House of Representatives had a rowdy session over moves to suspend the former chairman, House Committee on Appropriation, Abdulmumin Jibrin on Wednesday.
This followed a motion on matters of privilege raised by Emmanuel Orker-Jev, PDP, Benue.
National Assembly Correspondent, Joke Adisa reports that the Chairman, Rules and Business Committee quoted from Representative Abdulmumin Jibrin’s public statements on the alleged sins of four principal officers, including the Speaker.
Oker- Jev described Jibrins’s assertions which he made after he was removed as Appropriations Committee chairman, Orker-Jev as acts of misconduct against the members and the House as an institution.
The House thereafter degenerated into a rowdy session which prevented him from being heard, but he read through the motion.
He wants the Committee on Ethics and Privileges to investigate the matter and report back in one week.
The rowdiness continued as pro-Dogara members shared mufflers in support of the Speaker.
If found culpable, Jibrin will be suspended for a period not less than six months.
