Team Nigeria have emerged overall winners of the 2016 ITF West and Central Africa Under 18 Circuit staged in Lome, Togo.
Nigeria topped with four gold and one silver edging Korea in second place. Egypt and France placed joint third with one gold and one silver each while USA and Ivory Coast bagged a gold each to finish joint fourth in the 19-day competition.
Nigeria’s Barakat Quadri was the standout player.
The 13-year-old debutante amassed a total of four gold and a silver medal which include an unprecedented three straight girl’s singles titles.
The world-ranking tournament had more than 80 players from Africa, Europe, Asia and North America in attendance.
