Nigeria’s Minister for Youth and Sports Solomon Dalung has said Abuja will host the 19th National Sports Festival if Cross River state is unable to host the event.
Cross River State had won the rights to host the festival after the last games held in Lagos in 2012.
According to a media release from the Minister’s office, the Local Organizing Committee for the festival is demanding from the ministry two million dollars to host the event.
But Dalung is bent on the festival holding after suffering several postponements.
