Two court judgement have been delivered on the same issue, but with conflicting rulings.
Those judgements have to do with the governorship candidacy of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in Ondo State.
A federal High Court sitting in Abuja dismissed an application filed by Eyitayo Jegede, the candidate of the Ahmed Makarfi faction of the party.
Jegede had gone to challenge the candidacy of Jimoh Ibrahim as the flagbearer of the PDP in the Ondo State governorship election.
And in Akure, the Ondo State capital, a High Court restrained the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from substituting or replacing Eyitayo Jegede’s name, as the candidate of the PDP.
