Peace has finally returned to Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area of Imo State following the amnesty granted to militants by the state government.
The displaced persons from the area are gradually returning home as the ex-agitators have fully embraced the amnesty programme.
The former militants who came in their numbers to Government House used the opportunity to express gratitude to the state Government for granting them amnesty.
They promise that nothing will truncate the peace, vowing not to blow oil wells in the region anymore.
Addressing the repentant militants, the Imo State Deputy Chief Of Staff, Uju Kingsley thanked them for giving peace a chance.
He also informed them of government’s intention to recruit over one thousand persons from the region into the state civil service.
