The Kaduna state police command has confirmed the abduction of former environment minister, Laurentia Laraba Mallam and her husband, Pius in the state.
She served as environment minister in the Goodluck Jonathan administration.
Spokesperson of the command, Aliyu Usman told TVC News that the incident occured on Monday evening along Bwari/Jere axis on the Kaduna-Abuja highway.
Usman says the abductors kidnapped the former minister and her husband, but spared their driver

He says their whereabouts are yet to be known, but insists that the police is in control.
