TVC N. The Nigerian Airforce for the first time held it’s Regimental Dinner Night in Maiduguri. The Chief of Air Staff who says this is to encourage officers to imbibe mass etiiquette, noted that cherished military traditions have not been given attention in recent times due to the spate of terrorism in the country.
Regimental Dinner Nights began far back in the 16th century in England. It’s was at that time, held to honour heroes and celebrate victory in battles.
But in recent years this tradition waned as the Nigerian military got distracted by politics and the insurgency.
In his remarks, the guest of honour, enjoined officers to remain focused in the discharge of their duties.
The Chief of Air Staff says, the reason for holding the dinner in Maiduguri was informed by the need to put the minds of people at rest about safety in and about maiduguri.
Regimentation is the heartbeat of military professionalism, to promote comradeship among military men.
