The first cricket oval in Nigeria will soon begin to host matches.
President of the Nigerian Cricket Federation Emeka Onyeama confirmed this on Monday during a site inspection of the facility.
The wicket turfs covering an expanse of more than twenty-two hectars of land have been leveled and grassed with officials saying the turfs are 95 percent complete.
Once completed, the facility will be used for inter-club cricket competitions, National team training, International and invitational tournaments.
Onyeama says plans are in the offing to partner the Nigerian sports ministry in developing the sport in the country.
