The National Judicial Council has refused to suspend the two Supreme court judges who were arrested by the Department of State Services last weekend.
The DSS alleges that the Justices, Sylvester Ngwuta and Inyang Okoro, were involved in corrupt deals and unprofessional practices.
But in a statement issued by the NJC spokesperson, Soji Oye, the council described the Judges’ arrest as a clear attempt by the DSS to humiliate and intimidate the Judiciary.
The NJC said that contrary to the claim by the DSS, it had not received any petition against the Judges neither would it shield any Judicial officer, who has conducted himself unduly.
