INEC national Commissioner on-Voter Education, Solomon Shoyebi says there is no going back on the use of the card readers in the forthcoming governorship election in Ondo state.
Shoyebi made the disclosure at the official presentation of soft copies of voter register to the twenty-eight political parties that will partake in the election in Akure, the Ondo state capital.
The INEC national commissioner added that the use of card readers for the election would prevent rigging and ensure credible poll.
Shoyebi said about 1,659million people of the state are eligible to participate in the forthcoming poll, urging them to adhere strictly to all electoral guidelines of the commission.
Earlier in his speech, the state resident electoral Commissioner, Segun Agbaje said that the commission has no anointed candidate
He promised that the electoral body would be fair to all political parties that would participate in the election.
He also disclosed that some persons were planning to clone the Permanent Voters Cards in order to rig the election, warning that such acts would attract severe punishment.
