Zanaco skipper Ziyo Tembo is set to make his international debut for Zambia in today’s World Cup qualifier against Nigeria.
It will be a fitting reward for the highly-rated central defender, who is favourite to be named the Zambia Player of the Year for 2016.
He is tough, tall and like the more experienced Stopilla Sunzu, he is dangerous at set-pieces and has six goals in all competitions, including two in the CAF Confederation Cup, to show for that this year.
Tembo will partner Sunzu in the heart of the back four, which has fullbacks Kabaso Chongo and Roderick Kabwe.
Zambia play a traditional 4-4-2 and so Nathan Sinkala and Kondwani Mtonga will provide the defensive steel for the creative Chisamba Lungu and skipper Rainford Kalaba.
