Ghana drew level two minutes before the break when Ugo Njoku committed a foul in the box and Elizabeth Addo made no mistake from the spot.
The Super Falcons remain top of Group B on goals difference from the Black Queens, and will play Kenya on Sunday, while Ghana face Mali.
Nigeria, have won the trophy 7 times and are gunning for their 8th title in Cameroon.
