The Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, on Tuesday said the state government was willing to partner private investors in different sectors of the economy to create jobs and reduce unemployment in the state.
Obaseki disclosed this during the inauguration of the N4.5bn spirits production line at the Benin brewery of Guinness Nigeria Plc in Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area of the state.
He said in spite of the current recession, his administration believed that there were opportunities to improve the standard of living of the citizens by reviving the economy.
Obaseki, who opened the new project, described it as a welcome development, which he said, could be instrumental in government’s plan to create a minimum of 200,000 jobs for the unemployed in the next four years, especially in the agricultural sector.
