Heartland have appointed a new head coach in Emmanuel Deutsch to take charge of their campaign in the Nigeria National League (NNL) for next season.
Deutsch was presented to the public in an official ceremony and has been given the task of guiding the club back to the top division, the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
“Heartland FC of Owerri today unveiled a new technical adviser in the person of coach Emmanuel Deutsch with a mandate to return the club to the top flight,” the club announced on Wednesday.
Supervisor of the club, Honourable Ugonna Ozuruigbo, who is also mo State House of Assembly deputy speaker, assured that “Heartland will get support from the government in their bid to return to the NPFL in one season.”
Deutsch will have an official apartment and car to go with his role as head coach at the NNL club.
Heartland, who were relegated from the top-flight in Nigeria for the first time in their 40-year history, will begin their preparation for the season at the Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri on November 29.
