Aggrieved by the suspension of their representative, Abdulmumini Jibrin Kofa, from the House of Representatives, electorates of Bebeji/Kiru federal constituency, have taken the Speaker, Yakubu Dogara, House of Representatives and the House Clerk to court.
Jibrin was suspended from the lower federal legislature for 180 days for his role in the alleged padding of the 2016 budget.Counsel to the aggrieved party, Barrister Bashir Muhammad Muqaddam, briefed journalists, yesterday, in Kano, after filing the case at the Federal High Court, Court 2.
Muqaddam revealed that the constituents were challenging the authenticity of the suspension of the former Chairman of the House Committee on Appropriation, stressing, “His suspension breaks many ground rules, from the House to the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. ”
