Youths of Nembe city in Nembe council area of Bayelsa state have given Aiteo exploration and production company a 21-day ultimatum effective Wednesday November 9 to reopen negotiations concerning operational modalities in the area.
Accusing Aiteo of not having a functional office in Bayelsa or Rivers State, the Nembe youths staged a peaceful protest to the company’s Operational base, claiming that the oil firm has failed to address issues raised by the people before it took over the four flow stations of oml 29 in Nembe creek from Shell Petroleum Development Company a year ago.
