Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun state has debunked the rumour that his government is systematically easing out senior civil servants out of public service.
The governor spoke at the inauguration of the Iwo East Local Council Development Area secretariat donated by an indigene of the town, Abiola Ogundokun.
Directors and permanent secretaries who had not proceeded on annual leave in the past three years were mandated to go on a compulsory 3-month leave with immediate effect fueling speculation that the government was planning to lay them off.
Aregbesola disclosed that he has no intention of sacking them but only asked them to go on leave in accordance with the civil service rule.
He also denied asking students to pay school fees but said those in the newly built schools must pay maintenance fee.
The Oluwo of Iwo, Oba AbdRasheed Akanbi and the donour of the secretariat, Abiola Ogundokun called for concerted to develop the grassroots.
