Nigeria’s Super Falcons begin their African Women Championship title defence today (Sunday) against Mali in Cameroon.
Sweden based midfielder, Rita Chikwelu will lead the 7-time african Champions against the Malians following her confirmation as captain of the side.
Chikwelu replaces Evelyn Nwabuoku, who was left out of the squad due to injury.
Nwabuoku could not travel with the team after getting injured in the team’s training camp in Abuja.

Kenya and Ghana are the other teams in Nigeria’s group at the tourney.
