Governor Seriake Dickson wants the Federal Government to consider the Bayelsa Cargo Airport and its vast land a free trade zone to create job opportunities and boost tourism and trade in the state.
The Bayelsa Governor expressed this desire while embarking on an inspection tour of projects accompanied by former governors of Jigawa, Kano and some national leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party.
The inspection tour started at the New Governor’s Office in Government House Where the PDP national leaders were conducted round the magnificent edifice with a beautiful view of the serene aquatic environment and landscape.
The visitors also had a brief stop-over at the Bayelsa State Diagnostics Centre with state of the art medical facilities at Imgbi Road before proceeding to the cargo Airport project site.
There was also an earlier inspection visit to the Bayelsa Heliport.
