The National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) is poised to bringing affordable and quality health services to every Nigerian regardless of their geographical location.
This indication was given at a 2 days seminar on improving healthcare through expanded health insurance sheme.
TVC NEWS Betty Egedo reports that stakeholders from the National Health Insurance Scheme and the National Orientation Agency through this brain storming session hope to improve the Health insurance coverage such that access to quality health is given to people even at the grass root level.
With all various strategies to be employed, improved access to affordable healthcare could be achieved by the end of 2017.
Currently about 40 million Nigerians are covered by the National Health Insurance Scheme NHIS but with the current strategy to be put in place , more Nigerians would access quality health at affordable rates..
