Nigerian Professional Football League referees are set to clash with the League Management Company over their officiating fees for the 2016/2017 season.
The new league season begins next month and the referees want an increase in their indemnities and transport.
Referees for the Nigerian topflight were paid between N70,000 and N100,000 for per game last season.
But they now want to be paid between N120,000 and N150,000 for each match in the coming season.
Some of the referees say the increase is necessary in the face of the current economic challenges facing the country.
