Twenty four hours after senators of the Peoples Democratic Party, staged a walkout from the plenary session over the defection of Senator Yele Omogunwa they returned to the Chambers for today’s session.
Wednesday’s session was marred by the rowdy scene that marked the defection of Senator Omogunwa from the PDP to the All Progressives Congress.
The drama continued on Thursday morning as the PDP Senators refused to enter the chambers until the arrival of Senate President Bukola Saraki.
They had matched out of the chamber to protest the defection of one of them to the ruling party, the All Progressives Congress.
Minority Leader, Godswill Akpabio, in a brief speech, said the PDP senators decided to resume their legislative duty after priotising the interest of Nigerians
Senate President, Bukola Saraki, commended the PDP Senators for their maturity assuring that the dominant APC Senators would not take their support and cooperation for granted.
