The House of Representatives Ad-hoc Committee on the review and amendment of 1999 Constitution has ended its three day retreat in Abeokuta the Ogun State capital.
Speaking about the areas of the constitution that the committee proposed to amend, the Deputy Speaker, Honourable Lasun Yusuf said the committee looked into the issue of separation of the Office of the Attorney General from the minister of Justice.
He added that the committee will work on securing financial and administrative autonomy for local governments, deleting the word ‘FORCE’ from the Nigerian Police, separation and defining of roles for office of Accountant general and auditor general among others.
