President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the construction of a rail line from Kano to Kaduna State to the tune of 1. 2 Billion Dollars.
Minister for Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi made the disclosure when he paid a working visit to Kano State, assuring that when completed transportation between the two states will become easier.
Amaechi added that the Kano – Kaduna railway project is on course as the Federal Government is determined to firm up negotiations with China.
On his part, Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje says the project will enhance the mega city status of both states, noting that his administration has already signed an MOU with the China Construction Group to build an urban light rail in the metropolis.
