A minute of silence was observed at the Sam Ethnan Airforce base in Lagos as a mark of respect for the dead and injured in the unfortunate accidental bombing of the Internally displaced persons camp in Rann Borno State.
The Chief of Air Staff, Air marshal Sadique Abubakar and other ranking Airforce officers also joined to honor the victims and pray for quick recovery for the injured.
The Air Marshal was in Lagos to inaugurate blocks of residential buildings for officers of the Nigerian Airforce.
He said the welfare of the personnel will always be given priority consideration.
He also thanked president Muhammadu Buhari for believing in the capacity of the airforce.
The residential building was built in memory of airforce officers who died in september 1992 in a plane crash in Ejigbo area of lagos.
