As part of measures to forestall total breakdown of law and order, the Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose has declared a dusk to dawn curfew in Awo Ekiti in Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government Area where a communal clash broke out on Sunday.
Some people believed to be Muslims allegedly stormed a church and beat up worshipers including the wife of the vicar of the church which led to reprisals from the Christians.
A similar crisis engulfed this same community last September when the Muslim community in the town alleged that the people of the town did not want the Alawo-designate because he’s a Muslim.
The community is now heavily policed and the curfew is from six to six.
