Herdsmen in Bayelsa state have promised to graze within the Bayelsa Palm area of Yenagoa, to avert the destruction of crops and farmlands in communities.
The leadership of the cattle dealers association in the state, made the pledge during a meeting with the chairman and members of the state committee on the management of cattle ranches.
Led by its chairman, members of the committee on the management of cattle ranches in the state were at Bayelsa palm to inspect the one thousand two hundred hectres land designated for grazing.
The leadership of the cattle dealers association of Bayelsa state also advised their members to obey the committee’s directive.
Governor Seriake Dickson had earlier warned that any herdsman found carrying arms will be made to face the wrath of the law.
