The highest goal scorer of the 2016 Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL, Godwin Obaje, has become the highest paid player in the domestic soccer circuit.
This comes after Obaje signed to join Nigerian FA Cup Champions, FC Ifeanyi Ubah, from Wikki Tourists of Bauchi for the new season.
The striker joins the Anambra Warriors on a three-year deal and would earn two million Naira per month.
Obaje scored 18 goals to emerge the highest goal scorer in the local league and help Wikki to a third place finish to pick a CAF Confederation Cup ticket.
He is expected to make his debut for the Anambra Warriors against his former club, Wikki Tourists, on Sunday.
