Tackling insecurity in northern Nigeria will henceforth be addressed collectively by states in the region.
Governors in the region say they are also working towards domesticating the penal code, fiscal responsibility law and the administration of criminal justice law through necessary legislative actions.
Chairman of the forum said beyond insecurity, revitalising the region’s economy was also discussed.
The northern governors have always met, and had resolutions. But implementation of such resolutions, has been questionable.
To this, the governors said they are about to change the narrative.
They commended the Plateau state governor, and his Kaduna counterpart on their peace efforts.
They said it’s unfortunate the crisis is usually exacerbated by elements within, in conjunction with foreigners.
But they assured that addressing the issue collectively, would sort things out.
