Enugu State Government will commence the demolition of illegal structures at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium as part of efforts to get the venue ready for the second leg, CAF Champions League match between Rangers and the J.S SAOURA of Algeria.
The State commissioner for Capital Territory Development Authority, Chidi Aroh says the illegal structures defaced the beauty of the Stadium and as such constituted an eyesore.
He says the state government signed an undertaking with CAF officials last year to remove the illegal structures before the second leg of their game against the Algerian side.
He explains some of the structures are a threat to the stadium and can bring about its collapse if nothing is done fast.
The first leg of the tie ended 1-1 in Algeria.
