named opponents in March to help the team shape up for crucial international matches in 2017.
This disclosure was included in the communique issued at the end of a meeting of the Executive Committee of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) which was held at the NFF secretariat in Abuja yesterday.
“It was unanimously agreed that there was the need for intensive preparation of the Super Eagles for the remaining matches of the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying race, as well as the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying series starting in June. As part of the preparation, the Super Eagles will play two friendly matches against quality opposition in March 2017,” the communique stated.
For the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers Nigeria is drawn in Group E alongside South Africa, Libya and Seychelles and later on August 28, the Eagles will battle the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon in Uyo and the reverse fixture coming up on September 2 in Limbe.
