Senate President Bukola Saraki has expressed his displeasure with the ministry of transportation for embarking on the renovation of the Abuja airport runway without budgetary allocation.
Saraki disclosed this while hosting the Governor of Niger state, Abubakar Sani-Bello who led federal lawmakers from the state on a visit to the Senate leadership.
The Governor had come to seek the Senate President’s cooperation for repairs of Suleija to Minna highway and designation of Minna as alternate airport to Abuja.
At the meeting with Niger State Governor Abubakar Bello, he also insisted that planning procedures in the government need an update.
He disclosed that the highway from Suleija to Minna should have been renovated since the Minna airport was originally designed to serve as alternate airport to Abuja.
Saraki assured Governor Sani-Bello and Niger federal lawmakers that he would work hard to ensure that the Suleija to Minna highway is fixed among other demands.
