The South African Football Association has released a statement condemning in the strongest possible terms the recent outbreak of xenophobic attacks on foreign nationals in the country.
Safa stated that the football body have consistently pursued the path of cooperation and solidarity with all African FA members.
It recalled that South Africa hosted the first African World Cup, something which was celebrated all over the continent.
This it says South Africans should never forget and embrace a change of attitude to foreigners in the country.
SAFA called upon the police to work around the clock to deal with this scourge.
