Justice Mojisola Olatoregun of the federal high court Lagos ruled on Monday,that there will be another trial within the trial of former acting Director general of NIMASA, Haruna Jauro and two others.
This is to determine the admissability of the 1st defendant’s statement in court. The former acting Director general of and two others are facing a 301.4 million naira fraud charges.
Prosecuting witness Orji Chukwuma while been led in evidence told the court that the defendants converted money that was meant for Intelligence gathering activities for personal use.
Prosecuting counsel for the EFCC sought to tender the defendant’s statement in evidence but the defence counsel Lekan Ojo objected to it saying the statement was obtained involuntarily.
