Fifteen people have been killed and dozens others injured in the latest attack by herdsmen on Mgovur village in Benue State.
Police confirmed that the rampaging herdsmen invaded the community armed with guns and machetes.
Reasons for the attack are still unclear, but leader of the Benue State chapter of Cattle Rearers Association of Nigeria, attributes the attack to the villagers’ defiance to allow the herders stay in their community.
Villagers in Dogo are leaving their community to safer areas to avoid being caught in any attack.
Chairman, Correspondents Chapter in Benue State, Aloysius Umalo spoke to us on this issue.
