Nigerian champions Rangers lost 4-1 to Egyptian giants, Zamalek in the caf champions league round of 32 first-leg in Cairo.
Zamalek went three goals ahead in the first half, with strikes from Stanley Ohawuchi, Hossam Salama and Ayman Hefni.
Mostafa Fathi added a fourth from the spot nine minutes after the break before forward Bobby Clement grabbed a lifeline for the Nigerian side in the final minutes.
