The trial of the former governor of Abia state, Orji Uzor Kalu continued on Tuesday before a Federal High Court in Lagos.
Justice Muhammed Idris had adjourned till Tuesday for ruling on the competency of the first prosecution witness.
He ruled that the witness was fit to testify, since he was subpoened by the court, and trial began.
But it did not make head-way because the defence team objected to the admissibility of the document the prosecution sought to tender through the witness.
The former governor is on trial for a 34-count charge, bordering on money laundering.
The case continues on Wednesday.
