Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho said he was satisfied with the team’s performance on a difficult playing surface as his side earned a 1-1 draw at FC Rostov in the Europa League on Thursday.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan scored on his return from injury in the 35th minute but United were pegged back by their hosts eight minutes after the break as Aleksander Bukharov scored to level scores.
Though United were not able to secure a win, Mkhitaryan’s away goal will give them a slight edge ahead of the second leg at Old Trafford.
Elsewhere, FC Copenhagen scored in the opening minute of their home leg to beat Dutch giants Ajax 2-1.
Anderlecht came away with a 1-0 win at APOEL Nicosia. Celta Vigo defeated FC Krasnodar 2-1. Genk won 5-2 away at Gent in an Belgian affair.
Lyon fought back to beat Roma 4-2 as Olympiacos and Besiktas played out a 1-1 draw.
