Nigerians have been cautioned on the need to be observant when buying consumables from stores in the country.
The National Agency for Food and drugs Administration and Control issued the warning when they made discoveries of fake uncle Ben’s rice among other items at the Super Saver’s Stores at Ikosi, Ketu.
According to the NAFDAC Enforcement team, a customer alerted them to the existence of the fake products.
They also impounded some foreign beverages found displayed on the shelves of the store.
NAFDAC says that it had earlier given a December 31st 2016 deadline to importers and dealers to discontinue the sale of foreign beverages, among other products.
