Mikel Obi will wear the number 10 jersey as an indication of the new midfield role as opposed to the defensive midfield duties at English Premier League club, Chelsea.
The new season of the Chinese Super League begins this weekend and Tianjin TEDA will take on Shandong Luneng Jinan in their opening match on Saturday.
