Nigeria’s coach Gernot Rohr says the imminent focus is the 2019 Africa cup of nations qualifier against South Africa and not the much publicized threat of Cameroon in the World cup qualifiers.
Nigeria and South Africa have been drawn in Group E of the 2019 Nations cup qualifiers and will meet in the first round of matches in June.
Returning to the Nations is a particularly important target for Rohr and Nigeria, given that the country missed out of the last two editions.
Rohr says the technical crew has made the game against South Africa the priority.
Nigeria play Senegal and Burkina Faso in warm up matches next month.
2017 Nations cup finalists – Egypt have set up an international friendly against Togo.
The match will be played on March 28, and it is expected to keep the Pharoahs in good shape ahead of the 2019 Nations cup qualifiers.
