The Federal University Otuoke in Ogbia Council Area, the Federal Polytechnic Ekowe and neighbouring communities in Southern Ijaw can now enjoy electricity supply in their areas.
Ovieteme George reports that the power intervention project for the improvement of electricity in Bayelsa was officially handed over to the state by a director in the Federal Ministry of Power after a Pre-commissioning of the plant on March the 15th this year.
Officials of the federal ministry of power were at the Kolo Creek power station to inspect the dedicated 33KV power line to Federal University Otuoke and the installation of 2.5 MVA Power Transformer and Distribution Network.
The project also includes the supply and installation of 33KV metal clad switch gear for the evacuation of power from Kolo Creek power station to other Ogbia communities.
Project consultant and managing director of the Bayelsa State Electricity Company Olice, Kemenanbo says the Angiama sub-station will serve as a gateway for the supply of power to the Federal Polytechnic Ekowe and neighbouring communities in Southern? Ijaw Council Area.
The power intervention project is on-going in Delta, Plateau and Kaduna States.
