Ambassadors of the United Kingdom, France and Senegal have briefed members of the Security Council on their recent visit to the Lake Chad region.
They painted a bleak picture of the security, humanitarian situation and the development in the countries affected by the actions of the so-called terrorists, Boko Haram.
The Security Council delegation visited the four countries that form the Lake Chad region of Africa – Cameroon, Chad, Niger and Nigeria, in an effort to highlight the ongoing security and humanitarian challenges facing the region.
