The move followed a resolution on the attacks after a motion on the resurgence of attacks against Nigerians and foreign nationals in South Africa.

The motion was moved by the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Diaspora Affairs, Senator Rose Oko and three others.

The Senate at plenary rejected one of the prayers aimed at reconsidering Nigeria’s diplomatic ties with South Africa in favour of the proposed visit by National Assembly members.
